Queensbury Town Historian
The office of the Town Historian offers historical services under the Town Government. The Historian is appointed annually by the Supervisor. The role of the Historian is to collect, preserve, and disseminate the history of the town.
Some of the ongoing tasks performed by the historian include answering queries related to the history of Queensbury, helping students at all levels, assisting researchers with family history, providing research and advice to the Community Development on historic preservation planning, and serving on historic committees as a representative of the town.
A volunteer staff of interested citizens assists the Historian with accessing of materials, clipping news articles for the town scrapbook, filing, and data entering.
Hours are Monday and Wednesday 9-5pm and Friday 2-8pm. Appointments may be made for other hours by calling 518-761-8252. The Queensbury Town historian is John Berry.
